Hako Irvine

Our philosophy is simple - we love food, and we love people.

Growing up eating Katsu, it had become a comfort food that was timeless in our family. After years of research and development, countless trials in our kitchen, stirring our family’s recipe with love and a modern kitchen, we created the perfect Katsu. To make good food we need good recipes. Never frozen and always fresh, our Katsu’s come from the most prestigious farms in America. We add that to our signature batter and 3-tier bread panko, which is sourced locally, then prepare it in a superior oil imported from Japan. After an endless search, we found the perfect home in Irvine, CA and started building our menu to serve the people. When choosing our name, just like the food we serve, we wanted to keep it simple. Hako in Japanese means “Box”. Whether you dine in or take out we wanted you to have the same experience of enjoying our meals and we believe that starts with Hako.

We strive to provide sincere food and quality service in a comfortable and inviting environment, where memories of delicious meals shared in good company can be made.

The Hako Team.
